"Head On"

Instructional Coach:Stacie Wright

Roanoke Academy is a school within the Roanoke City Public Schools District with a science and mathematics emphasis. The school building is nine years old. It features computer, science, and mathematics labs. Students enjoy an outside classroom that is stocked with many beautiful plants which enhance their science lessons. Also, they can watch their plants grow year round in the attached greenhouse. The mathematics lab is equipped with manipulatives that enhance the teaching and learning of mathematical concepts. The mathematics and science theme is carried out in the building in the design of the floors, windows, and lighting. Roanoke Academy is a "state of the art" building where children love to learn.

RAMS in the News!!

Roanoke City Council Honors Fire Safety Poster Contest Winners.

Namari won 1st place
Jordan won 2nd Place

Both winners were from Mrs. Eanes' second grade class.

Thanks to the Roanoke Arts Commission, 12 of our schools are decorating snow plows for the Public Works Department.  These works of art have to demonstrate a winter scene.  The goal of the project is to engage all of Roanoke in the arts.  Our school was selected to design and paint a snow plow.  Ms. Link's class won the design and Ms. Shamy painted our beautiful plow!  Look for our plow around the community this winter!!
